The Hospice Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Hospice and they form the Council of Management. Their role is to ensure that the Charity functions within the law in accordance with the Charity Commission rules and also that the resources are managed efficiently. They meet quarterly and hold an AGM in July of each year. The Council determines the strategic direction and ensures policies and procedures are in place to manage risk. Various sub-committees, each with a Trustee representation, work to monitor the different aspects of the Hospice. The Council elects Trustees for a 3-year term of office renewable at the AGM.

This is the subsidiary trading company of the Hospice. All fundraising activities of the Hospice are managed by Willen Hospice Ventures Ltd (WHV), ensuring the tax efficient transfer of all profits to the Hospice. WHV incorporates the shops and warehouse, the lottery and the events and promotions team for both the corporate and community sectors. WHV consists of Hospice Trustees but are termed Directors for the company, the Hospice Chief Executive being the Company Secretary. WHV Board meets bi-monthly and holds an AGM in July of each year. The functions of the Board are monitored through a number of Board sub-committees with Director representation on each.

The team includes the Chief Executive, the Director of Nursing & Patient Services the Medical Director, the Head of Finance and HR Manager. They are responsible for ensuring the implementation of the Strategic Plan, that the agreed policies and procedures are adhered to and the quality of services fully meets and where possible exceeds the requirements of statutory bodies.
