Director of Nursing, Leanne Bircham - on working at Willen

 

Willen Hospice Director of Nursing, Leanne Bircham, says:

”Staff working at the Hospice, whatever their role, feel privileged to journey alongside patients and families at this momentous time in their lives. The rewards speak for themselves. The deep satisfaction that staff feel in a job well done cannot be measured in monetary terms.”

 

 

Dr Ben Dietsch - a personal experience

 

Doctor Ben Dietsch has every reason to consider his place of work precious, having held a long standing ambition to work in palliative medicine. Ben first became familiar with Willen as a young boy when visiting a relative and always feeling “happy” and "welcome".

“Perhaps my experience of Willen in my early childhood had a bigger effect than I realized because years later, when I decided to study medicine it was with a view to specializing in palliative care.”
Ben feels his role in improving patients’ quality of life is “an immense privilege”.
