We are all more conscious these days of our effect on the environment and are constantly being encouraged to recycle. Council schemes provide for the recycling of glass and paper but there are many other items that, if donated to the Hospice, could be recycled and bring in much needed income.
All brands of mobile 'phones...
We use a company called Recycling Appeal who will give us up to £60 for your old phone, depending on its market value. These can be dropped in to any of our sites or we can arrange to pick up large quantities.

Coats, Dresses, Shoes, Skirts, Trousers, Gents, Ladies, Childrenswear, Designer...
We have seven Willen Hospice Charity Shops that sell good quality, donated items of clothing. All income generated from sales goes directly to the Hospice. We can also raise funds by selling rags, so if your clothes and shoes are old and tatty please put them in a bag, clearly labelled, and donate them to us just the same.
Gold chains, jewellery, crockery, ceramics, silver, china, ornaments....
Our charity shops also sell bric-a-brac items such as good quality toys and games, kitchen-ware, DVDs and Videos. Items are carefully sorted in our warehouse and, if we receive suitable items eg antiques or collectables we may decide to sell these on eBay in order to reach a wider audience and raise maximum funds.

Secondhand, non fiction hardbacks, fiction...
You may have noticed that we have a thriving book shop in Stony Stratford? We are always pleased to receive donated books that are in good condition, especially non-fiction hard backs. Any books that are collectable are again, sold on eBay to gain the maximum we can from the donation.
Sofas, Chairs, Tables, Bookcases, Chests, Beds...
Look out for our new furniture store which opened recently in Bletchley. We are looking for good quality, second hand furniture, so, if you have an item that is too good to dump, it might be just the thing we are looking for. However, please check with us first to make sure it complies with fire regulations. We can arrange to pick up items but they do need to be of saleable quality and soft furnishings have to have fire labels.
We raise over a thousand pounds each year through selling on donated postage stamps. We are particularly interested in old collections and albums but can make use of any new or used stamps. We can also make use of any left over foreign coins from travels abroad or old currency. Both of these items can be dropped into any of our shops or the warehouse as well as the Hospice.
Due to recent changes in the law regarding the disposal of hazardous waste, it has become cost prohibitive for us to accept printer and toner cartridges for recycling. We are currently working on trying to resolve this situation and will get in touch with those who have regularly supported us in this way if we are able to restart the scheme.
If you would like any more information on the items you can donate to us for recycling please call
