We are all more conscious these days of our effect on the environment and are constantly being encouraged to recycle. Council schemes provide for the recycling of glass and paper but there are many other items that, if donated to the Hospice, could be recycled and bring in much needed income.
Willen Hospice can now benefit from recycling printer cartridges and mobile 'phones. Empty Cartridge Ltd will pay Willen Hospice for any cartridges or 'phones that you donate. So, instead of sending your spent cartridges and old mobile 'phones to landfill why not do your bit for the environment and also help the Hospice.

Coats, Dresses, Shoes, Skirts, Trousers, Gents, Ladies, Childrenswear, Designer...
We have seven Willen Hospice Charity Shops that sell good quality, donated items of clothing. All income generated from sales goes directly to the Hospice. We can also raise funds by selling rags, so if your clothes and shoes are old and tatty please put them in a bag, clearly labelled, and donate them to us just the same.
Gold chains, jewellery, crockery, ceramics, silver, china, ornaments....
Seven of our charity shops also sell bric-a-brac items such as good quality toys and games, kitchen-ware, DVDs and Videos. Items are carefully sorted in our warehouse and, if we receive suitable items eg antiques or collectables we may decide to sell these on eBay in order to reach a wider audience and raise maximum funds.

Secondhand, non fiction hardbacks, fiction...
You may have noticed that we have a thriving book shop in Stony Stratford? We are always pleased to receive donated books that are in good condition, especially non-fiction hard backs. Any books that are collectable are sold on eBay to gain the maximum we can from the donation.
John Acres, trading manager says:
"All book donations are very gratefully received. However, as with all donations, they are carefully sorted so that only good quality, saleable items are sold in our bookshop and shops. Those that are not in saleable condition, e.g. pages torn/missing, broken or outdated, are sold on to a recycling company. This enables us to maximize income and generate approximately an additional £2,000 per year for patient care."
Sofas, Chairs, Tables, Bookcases, Chests, Beds...
We have furniture stores in Bletchley and Buckingham and are able to accept good quality, second hand furniture, so, if you have an item that is too good to dump, it might be just the thing we are looking for. However, please check with us first to make sure it complies with fire regulations. We can arrange to pick up items but they do need to be of saleable quality and soft furnishings have to have fire labels.
We raise over a thousand pounds each year through selling on donated postage stamps. We are particularly interested in old collections and albums but can make use of any new or used stamps. We can also make use of any left over foreign coins from travels abroad or old currency. Old and new postcards can also be used to generate funds. Any of these items can be dropped into any of our shops or the warehouse as well as the Hospice.
