Andy’s Angels was set up in Milton Keynes to raise money for cancer sufferer Andy Greig’s chosen charities, The Bone Cancer Research Trust and Willen Hospice, Milton Keynes. Andy was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (a malignant bone cancer) in his right femur in February 2008, aged 41. Since then, Andy has undergone various treatments including six months of chemotherapy, knee replacement surgery, chest surgery to remove secondary tumours and radiotherapy.
Andy’s Angels is a team of amateur runners, including Andy’s wife Sara and three daughters Amy, Hannah and Emily, his sister, and neighbours, and Stuart Pendred, a professional singer and actor who came up with the idea of running a series of races in 2009.
