Prizes included a signed MK Dons strip, a month family pass to David Lloyd, tickets to an MK Dons game, a luxury facial at Salon Rouge, a handmade tailored shirt from Souster and Hicks and his and hers Fossil watches. Many of the prizes were generously donated by Stony Stratford businesses. The raffle raised £1,000 for the quiz nights' chosen charities, Willen Hospice and Rett Syndrome Association UK - this added to the £4,000 that had already been raised throughout the year to bring the grand total so far to £5,000.
One of the event organisers, Jonathan Taylor, commented:
“My daughter has Rett Syndrome and I have had a close family member who was cared for by Willen Hospice, so I wanted to set up an event that would be regular and help to raise funds and awareness of these two fantastic charities. With the support of Richard Williams, Damian Evans and the Naidni restaurant we have now been running our charity curry and quiz night for a year. Every quiz night is a sell out every month and we have raised over £5,000 for the charities – which is fantastic.”
Melanie Harriss, Marketing and Communications Manager, commented:
“Regular community fundraising of this nature is essential for the future financial security of the Hospice and we are extremely grateful to Jonathan, Richard, Damian and the Naidni restaurant for supporting us in this way.”
