Christopher Eyes, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice has recently announced his retirement from office. He will leave the post in April 2008, after ten years service, to make the most of his twilight years with his wife Mavis.
Christopher’s vision and passion for the work of the Hospice has been a major factor in its continuing development and he will be sorely missed. Under his leadership, the Hospice has expanded to include the Hospice at Home, Lymphoedema, Befriending and Family Support services. Community based patient numbers have more than quadrupled and the Hospice building itself has undergone major refurbishment, significantly improving the environment for patients.
Dr Julian Pedley, Chairman of Willen Hospice, commented:
“His untiring commitment to Hospice, community and business events has raised the profile of Willen Hospice enormously, made him a key figure in the local community and helped the Hospice to secure regular support from the public.”
Work is now underway to identify a suitable successor who will build on Chrisopher’s legacy and take the Hospice forward in to the next decade. An inspirational leader with a track record of success is required, who can work with Trustees and multi-disciplinary teams to evolve and deliver the strategic plan.
