Health Secretary Alan Johnson recently launched the End of Life Care Strategy, backed with £286 million to provide high quality care for all adults approaching the end of their life.

Willen Hospice’s Chief Executive, Paul Hinson, said in response to the announcement:

“Willen Hospice provides end of life care to adults in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas where dignity and choice are paramount. We are currently caring for approximately 250 people in their own homes but do rely on donations and community support for 75 per cent of our funding. Making care at the end of life a greater health and social care priority across the UK is a significant and welcome step forward to ensure that this level of care and choice can be provided for all those with terminal illness.”
