The events team at Willen Hospice have been ‘overwhelmed’ by the unprecedented response to the launch of their ‘MK Midnight Moo’.
Nearly half of the 1000 entrants have already registered a space for the 10 mile midnight walk but management confirm there is still time to enter and join one of the biggest MK events of 2009.
Last weekend, Midsummer Boulevard hosted an extravaganza of entertainment to launch the fund-raising event, which was even supported by The Dons’ very own ‘Mooey’.
Chief Executive, Paul Hinson said:
“We are astonished by the response and generosity we have had so far but I would encourage those that really want to enter to do so now and avoid any disappointment.”
Hosted by and in aid of Willen Hospice, the 10 mile walk on Saturday 18th July will start at midnight and take participants on a well lit journey past some of the City’s iconic landmarks, starting and finishing at Midsummer Place shopping centre.
1000 women are expected to take part and raise much needed funds.
The MK Midnight Moo is one of many events in the Hospice’s fundraising calendar for 2009 and it is hoped that it will be a really big fundraiser.
“We cannot thank people enough for their support in the lead up to what is a very important event to us,” said Paul Hinson, Chief Executive.
Entry is £15 and includes a special MK Midnight Moo t-shirt and medal and refreshments at the start, half-way point and at the end of the walk.
Willen Hospice is also appealing for people to help out at the event, whether male or female - call the MK Midnight Moo hotline on MK 306698 or email florence@mkmidnightmoo.com if you are interested. Spectators are welcome to show their support at designated marshalled areas.
