Recognition for Newport Pagnell Coffee Shop
Staff at The Newport Pagnell Coffee Shop, whose profits are donated to Willen Hospice, recently received an award from the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in recognition of their hard work and commitment as ‘unsung heroes’.
The coffee shop has been running since 1976 and originally fundraised for the Parish Church and the Hospice. The coffee shop operates from the Methodist Church in Newport Pagnell, Tuesday to Saturday every week and all profits now come to the Hospice. In 2006 the cumulative amount raised reached £100,000.
The original idea for the coffee shop was as a place for a chat over a cup of coffee with friends, whilst, at the same time, helping others – and this remains true today.
