Team Corley have raised over £16,000

Following the success of Team Corley Cycles in raising over £11,000 for Willen Hospice in their last two seasons, the team have continued their fundraising throughout the 2009 season and raised almost £5000, taking the total to over £16,000.

Team Corley Cycles linked the success of the team in races and other competitive cycling events, throughout the racing season, to raising money for Willen Hospice. Wins and high places in events triggered contributions to a fund that was then matched by team co-sponsors, Madison Cycles. The money raised will be used, in part, to sponsor the Hospice’s 2010 London Marathon Runners - the remainder will go directly to patient care at the Hospice.

Phil Corley of Corley Cycles, one time British National Professional Road Race Champion, commented:

“We are delighted to have been able to support local competitive cycle racing as well as help a very worthwhile local charity for a third year running. The linkage based on success has given the team a unique competitive and motivational edge which has been channelled to helping a great cause. We are all looking forward to taking this fundraising into a fourth year”

 “We are always encouraged by the innovative and exciting ways in which our communities support the Hospice. We are very grateful to everyone involved with Team Corley for enabling this fundraising venture to be so successful and raise such a great amount for the Hospice for the third year running.
