As well as sponsoring and supporting a number of local racing cyclists Team Corley Cycles is linking the success of the team in races and other competitive cycling events to raising money for Willen Hospice. Wins and high places in events trigger contributions to a fund which will be presented at the end of the 2007 racing season.
Team Corley has so far raised £2,340 for the Hospice from this venture, so is nearly half way towards its target and well on schedule to reach the £5,000 by the end of the season.
Phil Corley of Corley Cycles, one time British National Professional Road Race Champion, commented:
“We are delighted to be able to support local competitive cycle racing as well as help a very worthwhile local charity. The linkage based on competitive success has given the team a unique competitive and motivational edge which has been channeled to helping a great cause.”
Phil has also secured the enthusiastic support of a number of his key suppliers who were pleased to endorse the charitable but competitive spirit of the team and they also welcomed the linkage to Willen Hospice as a new and different way of contributing to the local community. The team will be riding this years’ specifically prepared Trek Madone 6.5 racing bikes finished in black.
