An attempt to race 165,000 rubber ducks over a
1km stretch of the Thames, near Hampton Court
Set a new Guinness World Record
Raise over £500,000 for UK Charities
At 12 noon the ducks will be dropped into a 50metre x 150metre holding pen. At 13.30 the pen will be opened and the ducks will be released in to a 50 metre channel of the River Thames, the natural current taking them down the course. The course will be a minimum of 1 km in length (Guinness World Record requirement)
The ducks will be dropped in to the holding pen and released completely at random. Each duck is individually numbered and the first duck to cross the finish line will be deemed the winner of the £10,000 cash prize. Further superb prizes will be awarded to the next 30 ducks that cross the line.
It costs just £2 to adopt a duck and you can also make a donation to any of the UK charities registered with the Great British Duck Race, including Willen Hospice.
