Following the Hospice’s announcement in February about a funding shortfall, staff have come up with many innovative fundraising ideas to try to help ease the situation, including parachute jumps, bike rides etc. Hospice nurses came up with the idea of producing a special calendar for 2010.

The calendar is attractive, functional and has 12 detachable postcards with scenes around Willen. It is hoped that it will sell well over the next few months and bring in additional income.

Fiona Wordley, In-Patient Unit Manager, said:
“We wanted to do something to help and came up with the idea of a calendar featuring scenes from the beautiful grounds around the Hospice. Thanks to sponsorship from Mark Lancaster, Choice Textiles, Toymaster and Kinetic Solutions the calendar has been produced at no cost, so all income from sales will go directly to patient care.”
Mark Lancaster, TD MP and Hospice Patron, commented:
“As always I am delighted to support Willen Hospice and especially in this, the inaugural fundraising calendar. I am confident it will be a regular feature of Hospice funding for many years to come.”
The calendar is £3:99 and is available from all the Willen Hospice shops on the high streets around Milton Keynes and also online through our eShop.
