In 1988 Colin Skinner set off on foot, with only a tent and a backpack for company, and walked over 6,000 miles to help hospices. On 29th April 2007, he will set off again to cover those 6,000 miles and raise awareness of hospices in Britain, America and Canada.
Colin has written a book about the journey back in 1988. On the route he will give talks to schools, Rotary Clubs and other organisations to encourage them to support their local hospice. Book signings are being arranged, with £5 from each book going to the hospice. The book has a foreword written by Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the renowned Polar explorer.
Colin is carrying out the walk in memory of his mother, Monica Pickford, who died from cancer in 2003.
