Willen Hospice is delighted to announce that Parcelforce Worldwide, which are based in Knowlhill, Milton Keynes have selected the Hospice as their preferred charity to support this year.
Parcelforce Worldwide have pledged to raise £30,000 for the Hospice this year through encouraging and matching staff fundraising activities and organising a Golf Day, with support from a number of their key suppliers including American Express, FirstGBRf, Experian, BT, Eckoh, The Barcode Warehouse and New Voice Media.
The funds raised from the Golf Day will be used to sponsor the Hospice’s ball at Horwood House in October, which means all funds raised on the night can go directly to patient care.
Christopher Eyes, Chief Executive of the Hospice commented:
“The many services we provide to patients at the Hospice are free, we get only a quarter of our funding from the NHS and need to raise over £2 million a year to continue to provide our care. The support of organisations such as
Parcelforce Worldwide is vital to ensure that we can do this.”
Dave Smith, Managing Director for Parcelforce Worldwide commented:
“As part of our wider group initiative to raise funds for Help the Hospices nationwide, our fund raising for Willen Hospice has become an important focus for Parcelforce Worldwide over the last year. Providing support at this local level we hope will make a significant difference to our local community. "
