Building work has begun on the extension to the Day Hospice which will offer a much needed increase in space for patients, a room to meet patients and carers in privacy, a complementary therapy room and a treatment room with hairdressing facilities. The project is being carried out by Rok.

The total build cost is £170,000 and though we still have a little way to go, thanks to the enormous generosity of the Hospice’s supporters following our Day Hospice Appeal, we are now well on the way to reaching this target.
Christopher Eyes, Hospice Chief Executive commented:
“I am always overwhelmed by the generosity of the people in our local communities in supporting the Hospice. The Day Hospice Extension Appeal has been no exception and I am delighted at the response so far.”
Work has also started to convert an old storage barn into office accommodation for the Community Palliative Care Team. Funds for this project have been raised through donations from charitable trusts and major donors. A grant of £7,200 has also been received from the Milton Keynes Community Foundation specifically for ensuring that adequate disabled facilities can be included in the barn conversion.
In spite of all the building work going on around it, the Hospice continues to provide all its services and high standards of specialist care. The only service to be affected is the Day Hospice which is currently located in the Garden Room at the Hospice.
If you would like a make a donation you can still do this on-line at www.justgiving.com/dayhospiceappeal or by post to Day Hospice Extension Appeal, Willen Hospice, Milton Road, Willen Village, Milton Keynes, MK15 9AB.
