In spite of atrocious weather conditions the annual Winter Fayre was well attended. The Fenny Stompers lightened the mood with their usual, great foot-tapping numbers and the Bellworthy Ringers skilfully entertained those taking refuge in the tea tent. There were the usual tombolas, raffles and gift stalls, not to mention a visit from Father Christmas.

The Fayre itself raised £2,000 for Hospice funds. An additional £16,183 was raised in the Winter Draw.

Our thanks to all who supported this event by donating goods, selling and buying winter draw tickets, helping and just turning up on the day.
Later in the day, at approximately 5pm, about 800 people took part in the annual Lights of Love ceremony. The main tree was lit and two smaller trees were decorated with stars designed by children as loved ones were remembered.
The tree will be lit for the whole of the Christmas season and a book of remembrance will be on display in the Hospice.
If you missed the ceremony and would like to dedicate a light on the Christmas tree please contact Sue Wallis on 01908 306991.
