2011 miles in 2011
Local man David Lewis will run and cycle 2011 miles in 2011 in support of Willen Hospice’s 30th anniversary this year.
David Lewis will take part in monthly events and marathons to meet his target of 38miles a week to raise at least £2011 for the Hospice. So far he has signed up to the Milton Keynes Half Marathon, the Shakespeare Marathon and has agreed to cycle in the charity’s London to Brighton event. As well as these, he is looking ahead to the Snowdonia Marathon.
David, 33, has lived in Milton Keynes all his life and works behind Willen Lake. David raised money for Willen Hospice last year when he took part in a half marathon and raised £400. Knowing that they are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, David thought this campaign would be a great way to try and raise awareness and additional funds for the local charity.
David said: “Willen Hospice is a local charity that does an amazing service for the surrounding area. I am not an athlete and I only started running a year ago, so this is a real challenge for me. However, I know that with the support of friends, family and the public I can complete my challenge and do my best for such a great cause”.
