Curry on the Menu

The event held at the Church of Christ the Cornerstone was organised by three Milton Keynes women and raised an impressive £5027 for the Hospice and was enjoyed by all.

For just £10, guests were served a starter of samosas, spring rolls and pappadums and for the mains - a chickpea curry and potato curry, accompanied by vegetable rice, Bathura, Raita and pickles. The dessert was Gulab Jambun with ice cream.

Those who attended were invited to participate in the raffle and auction, with prizes donated by a number of local restaurants, hairdressers, jewellers, hotels and communications companies. Guests also had the opportunity to have their hands painted with henna.

Bina, Shivani and Shobhna, who organised the event, were really grateful for the generosity of a number of local shops and shops in Leicester who donated ingredients as well as the Sikh Gurudwara for the use of their kitchens and the thirty volunteers who helped them to make this event a success. The organizers said: “We are really pleased we raised such a good amount for Willen Hospice and we are already looking forward to the next event!”
