Jubilee theme for walk

The Jubilee Walk for Willen took place at Willen Hospice on Saturday 2nd June and many supporters dressed specially for the occasion.

It was a very colourful event with over 400 people and 22 dogs taking part in the Jubilee-themed sponsored walk that started and finished at the Hospice.

On their return, walkers were treated to live music provided by The Bolivian Sunshine Dogs, The Fenny Stompers and Frazer’s Rag ‘n’ Roll Band along with Zumba by Exstress and performances from the Diamond School of Performing Arts.

Jubilee-themed costumeA special memory wall was erected in the Hospice grounds for people to leave a message in memory of a loved one.

Refreshments for all the family were served in a special Jubilee Tea Tent.

The event has raised over £3000 that will all go towards providing specialist care to Hospice patients and their families.

Allison Waterhouse , Events and Community Fundraiser, said:
“It was a great day and wonderful to see so many Hospice supporters in Jubilee fancy dress enjoying themselves. We are delighted at the level of support and participation and how much the event has raised on this Jubilee weekend. A special thank you has to go to all the local companies who supported the event as well as to our wonderful volunteers as we couldn’t have put this event on without them”

You will see below that Flo, MK Midnight Moo mascot, got ahead of the action, perhaps using this as a preparation for her big walk next month!
