Lights of Love 2011

Willen Hospice held its annual Lights of Love service on 3rd and 4th December and over 1,500 Hospice supporters attended to remember loved ones.

The Hospice Christmas tree in the grounds overlooking the lake, was beautifully decorated and illuminated with hundreds of lights. The tree remains lit for the whole of the Christmas and New Year period.

Local musicians gave up their time to support the event and included the, MK Brass, MK Singing Network and MK Acapella who performed Christmas carols to the assembled crowds. A lone piper from MK Pipe band also played an accompaniment to the lights' switch on.  Young people and children had the opportunity to decorate stars which are displayed on two smaller trees adjacent to the main Lights of Love tree.

Willen Hospice - always there to care

It is anticipated that  the moving ceremony will have raised over £20,000 including Gift Aid for the Hospice, helping to ensure that Willen Hospice can continue to provide complex and individual care to adults with life limiting illnesses and support to their families and friends.
