MK Money
The city may not be getting its own currency but people can still pick up specially printed notes thanks to a local souvenir company.
Mark Cain of MK Cows came up with the idea to help promote the city and each denomination has its own figure of significance.
The designs used on the MK Money notes are taken from recognised, high profile businesses and organisations.
Willen Hospice, in celebration of its 30th year, is featured on a £30 note. Other featured organisations include Jim Marshall – head of Marshall Amplification – the Xscape building, the Milton Keynes Dons and the concrete cows themselves.
If you would like to own one of the notes you could win one for free by registering on www.mkmoney.co.uk (opens new window)
Or you can buy the complete set of six from Waterstones book store or via the MK Cows website at www.mkcows.com. The cost is just £5 for a set of six.
