The Herd Kept MoOoving

Willen Hospice’s third MK Midnight Moo took place on Saturday 16th July with over 1700 ladies entering into the moovellous atmosphere on the evening.

The ladies were able to have their faces painted with the Florence Moo logo, followed by a warm up with the personal trainers from David Lloyd Fitness. ISIS Chiropractors gave the herd a lovely hoof massage and a belly dancing display ensured that the ladies muscles were properly warmed up for the 10 mile route ahead of them.

Moo Facts

• Each lady taking part will burn on average 1,000 calories walking the MK Midnight Moo
• There will be approximately 3400000 steps taken in the MK Midnight Moo
• The average person's walking pace is close to a 15 minute mile, and the average lady will take 3.5 hours to complete the walk

The walk commenced at midnight from Midsummer Place Shopping Centre and followed a 10 mile circular route taking in a refreshment break at Willen Primary School, Tongwell and through Great Linford, onto a mid-Moo stop at Bury Lawn School.  Here, the ladies were serenaded by MK Acapella and were able to take on more water and snacks provided by Vendmaster Ltd and Pret a Manger respectively.  From here the herd visited some concrete friends at Bancroft, and finally made its way through Rooksley to the finish line at Midsummer Place. The ladies were joined by Florence Moo, the event mascot and were welcomed back home by the team from Willen Hospice.

Paul Hinson, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice, said “This is the third year for the MK Midnight Moo and I was delighted to see so many entrants who have come from across the UK to take part. I would like to extend my thanks to everybody involved including the volunteers and staff, the walkers and our supporters who provided refreshments to keep the herd on their hooves. Yet another fantastic event has raised much needed funds to ensure Willen Hospice continues to provide free care to the local community of Milton Keynes”.

The next MK Midnight Moo will take place on Saturday 14th July 2012 and registrations are already being taken at www.mkmidnightmoo.com.

If you would like to purchase Moo T shirts, keyrings, socks, sports bags these are still available from our online shop
