Creative therapies are very beneficial as they lift patients' spirits and help them to forget about their illness. With guidance and encouragement some wonderful pieces of artwork have been created. Games and quizzes encourage interaction and laughter. We also introduce props for reminiscing which help people to talk, feel relaxed and interact with other patients.

The Day Hospice works with other members of the Hospice team including Doctors, Nurses, Community Teams, Social Care Department, Chaplain and Volunteers, and in close liaison with General Practitioners and District Nurses if required.
All referrals to the Day Hospice are initially for up to three months. The Day Hospice staff will want to be sure that it is appropriate for you - it is a specialist unit and people with social care needs may be referred elsewhere.
After the referral has been made a member of the Day Hospice staff will visit you at home to "say hello" and to check things like transport and dietary needs.
