What is it like?
Our 20 bedded In-Patient Unit, comprises 16 single side rooms and 1 four-bedded bay. Patients admitted to the unit will be offered support in a number of areas, for example pain relief and control of other distressing symptoms, psychosocial support and spiritual care.
Much support is also offered to the families and carers of our patients and contrary to popular belief, many of our patients do go home again, often care of our community nursing support teams.
Our service provision is for patients whose immune systems are often compromised due to their illnesses, making it imperative for us as an organization to maintain and monitor the highest standards of hygiene practice.

All our rooms are light and cheerful with storage space for clothes and personal belongings and seating for visitors. All have televisions and some have en-suite facilities.

Friends and relatives of patients often spend a lot of time at the Hospice, so every care has been taken to ensure they can feel comfortable and relaxed at what can be a very stressful time.
Home cooked food

For patients, the Hospice kitchen provides a variety of home cooked food all made on the premises from fresh produce.

Each patient is given a comprehensive handbook to assist them and their families during their stay.
