“It has a special atmosphere to it, there is such a feeling of being relaxed, of people caring. You meet a lot of people with the same problem and that somehow seems to help, it really does. Everyone is so caring and thoughtful, the staff are fantastic, they really are, they just can’t do enough for you and the meals are superb.
The thing that appeals most is the atmosphere of security, safety and comradeship, which I find is very strong and I think that is possibly the greatest thing of all. It is knowing that you are with people who care and that they are there to look after you, it is absolutely wonderful, it really is, they do a superb job.
Everything is so well laid out and so well thought out. I though it would be a lot of people sitting round, bemoaning their fate, really quite a sad lot but, in fact, it wasn’t. The illness side of it is very rarely discussed. The people themselves are an inspiration, they are so cheerful and so happy and positive, you feed off each other with the positive aspects, to me Tuesday is my Red Letter day of the week, I love coming here it is absolutely superb. I go home full of stories.”
