Be a Friend

At the end of 2011 the Friends and their army of helpers had completed over 30 years of fund raising and had donated in excess of £1,700,000 to the Hospice.

The Friends of Willen Hospice was formed in 1980 and has grown from a small group of dedicated people to a registered charity.

What do Friends do?

Friends working for WillenThe Friends of Willen Hospice are a band of volunteers, from all walks of life, who undertake to raise enough money each year to cover all the costs of a bed at the Hospice.  Each year the Friends Committee and individual members and helpers organise a variety of fund raising events throughout the Hospice catchment area .

Friends raise funds

Fundraising activities include:

  • annual raffles
  • concerts
  • bucket collections
  • coffee mornings
  • cheese and wine parties
  • auction of promises
  • fashion shows
  • plants and garden produce sales
  • Annual flag day collections, door to door collections and servicing of over 200 collecting tins provide other substantial sources of income.

Please get in touch and we will be pleased to add you to our list of supporters and supply you with one of our tins. Need a home for that loose change? Why not take one of our home collecting boxes and place it by your telephone or where you empty your pockets....! Your loose copper could make a real difference to Willen Hospice.
