Hospice Volunteers
What do they do?
The kind of work undertaken by volunteers at the Hospice itself is varied, including:
- assisting the nursing staff
- serving the patients' evening meals
- doing the laundry
- arranging flowers
- escorting patients on the minibus
- helping in the day hospice
- hairdressing
- helping on reception
There are many other ways that volunteers help and we try to find the right area for each volunteer.
Each area works on a rota system, but the time commitment can vary from two hours once a fortnight to six hours twice a week, it depends on how much time each person can offer.
