The lottery is important to Willen Hospice because it raises approximately £10,000 every month to help fund essential services . The lottery office is helped by over 70 volunteers who undertake a variety of roles to ensure that the lottery runs smoothly, sells lots of tickets and maximises its return to the Hospice. We always need more volunteers. Below are brief descriptions of the types of volunteering opportunities available:
Do you own or run a shop or pub or work in a large office? If so, one of the ways you could volunteer would be by selling tickets for our weekly lottery to your customers or work colleagues.
Do you enjoy driving and meeting new people and have Wednesdays free? The lottery ticket distributors have the duty of collecting the sold ticket stubs, money and unsold tickets from outlets around Milton Keynes and dropping off the tickets for the next weeks draw.
Are you outgoing and enjoy meeting people but feel that you would like to volunteer on more of an occasional basis? This role involves helping the lottery office with their promotional work by selling tickets at events or helping on stands at exhibitions eg Garden Centres, Concerts, Sports Events, Festivals.
Do you have good links with your local community or work in a large office and could help us once a month? This role involves getting together a group of people who want to play the lottery and collecting their subscriptions once a month e.g. pay day.
If you think your skills could help the lottery office or if you would just like more information about any of the roles above please call Lynn Reeves, Lottery Manager on 01908 578255
