“As a Community Liaison Coordinator, my role is to deliver our Corporate Social Responsibility to charities, communities, schools, and wherever we can make a difference. The link we have with Willen Hospice is vital to the Business as we demonstrate our responsibility to organisations where we trade. We are more than just a Business and customers are keen to know about our involvement in the community, therefore loyal and happy customers, more support for our Business. In the same way,  loyal and happy Partners (staff), mean a greater recruitment retention of Partners. Win, Win” – Anne Dodds, Partner & Community Liaison Coordinator, John Lewis & Partners

“Ingram Micro started their partnership with Willen Hospice in 2017, with the associates of Ingram Micro choosing Willen as their chosen Charity.  The associate’s feedback was that Willen Hospice had supported them as either a family or through a friend and they wanted to give back to the Hospice. The associates like to get involved with Willen’s event, whether that be running or cycling, and internal events such as bake sales and quizzes. This year we also launched our Volunteers Day and so far we have supported Willen on two of these days, painting at the Hospice and sorting donations at the outlet shop.” – Rebecca Benzie, Head of SMB Sales, Ingram Micro.

Partnership Testimonials

Hear from organisations that support Willen Hospice

“The reason we choose Willen every year is down to the individual’s choice at our site. Each year we ask everyone which charities they would like to nominate to support for the year – and we pick the top 2. Willen is always by far the nomination with the most votes as it is very dear to many hearts here at CCEP.” – Aaron West

Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors
“We like to think of ourselves as part of the Milton Keynes community supporting local charities. Willen Hospice plays a vital role in the community. We had our own staff member here who saw their last few days at Willen Hospice. It was a special experience and we want Willen Hospice to be able to continue providing that support and help others when they’re in need.” – Paula Stuart

How we care

Mia’s story

“It was just before I was about to start Year 7. It was so hard starting secondary school without mum, but my dad, the rest of my family and friends were there for me. I also had bereavement support from Willen which helped me a lot. At one session I made a plant and in another I made a lavender bag with ‘mum’ on it. Sleeping was really hard, but taking the bag to bed with me really helped. Being able to talk to someone about my feelings and not bottle them up was really helpful.

“The team at Willen do an incredible job. They see so many people going through the roughest time but they can still make you laugh and smile. The care the doctors and nurses gave mum was amazing and the support myself and my brothers and sister got from the team was unbelievable.”

“Willen help so many people but the pandemic has hit them so hard. They need the community to help them so they can be there for more people. I’m so proud of the money I have managed to raise. Watching my mum die was the hardest thing, but I am so glad that I have been able to do something to pay them back for the amazing things they did for my mum and our family.” – Mia
