Local ladies to take a leap for Willen Hospice
An MK mother and daughter duo are calling on local people to join them as they take to the skies for the Willen Hospice tandem skydive this spring.
Nicola and her mum, Sally, will be taking on the 13,000ft leap at Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield on Sunday 12 May in memory of Nicola’s husband Doug, who was cared for at the Hospice in the final stages of his battle with bowel cancer. So far the pair have raised an incredible £2,000 for the charity, but they’re encouraging more people to sign up and join them to support the local hospice by doing something amazing.
Nicola said, “Willen Hospice were just wonderful - there really aren’t the words. They not only took amazing care of Doug, but also looked after me, our daughter and our family and friends. It truly is an amazing place and I am very thankful that Doug had the very best care at the end of his brave fight.”
Tracey Jago, Senior Events Fundraiser, said: “A sky dive is an unforgettable experience, and one that often features high up on many people’s bucket list. It’s also an incredibly brave way to raise money that is vital to support people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families, just like Doug and Nicola’s.”
Skydivers can take part in a morning or afternoon jump, and there will be a BBQ for friends and family watching from the ground below. Sign up here or call 01908 303062
