MK Business support Willen Hospice staff this Christmas
A selfless act of festive kindness by staff at an MK business will mean that those working at Willen Hospice will be gifted their breakfast and lunches when on shifts this Christmas.
Accounting firm RSM UK decided to do a ‘Christmas Gift Sacrifice’ and instead of buying gifts for each other, used the money they would have spent on presents to pay for Hospice staff to have Christmas lunch and breakfast bacon baps. The company estimated they could raise £200, but thanks to their staffs’ generosity, they managed to raise a fantastic £750. The extra money donated will help fund Hospice services.
While most people look forward to a break over the Christmas period, the Willen Hospice nurses, catering, and other vital members of staff will be working ‘business-as-usual’, caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses and at the end of their lives, while supporting their families to make sure they can enjoy precious time together at Christmas.
Tracy Priest, RSM UK Tax Manager, and Willen Hospice Ambassador, said: “Willen Hospice can only support its community in the fantastic work they do if, in turn, that community supports Willen. It is our privilege to be able to do so.”
Peta Wilkinson, Chief Executive of Willen Hospice, said: “We are very grateful to RSM for covering the costs of Christmas lunch and breakfast for our staff working over the festive period. Our nurses care for patients 365 days a year, and Christmas Day makes no exception, so thanks to RSM they’ll be able to have a special Christmas with their Willen family.”
The Hospice would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who have supported them over the Christmas period.
