We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist (AfC 8a or aspiring 8b) who is looking to work in cancer and palliative care and develop their service leadership skills at Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes.

This is a unique opportunity to work with patients and their families who are navigating the experience of cancer or a palliative diagnosis; the service also supports the bereaved.

Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the area. In addition to our 15 bed In-Patient unit and Community Nursing provision, we have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy, Spiritual Care and a new Living Well Centre.

This opportunity would give you experience of working within a part commissioned NHS service and charitable organisation, making it a unique and dynamic environment.
You will be an integral part of a wider MDT including health care, social care and allied health professionals. Your leadership skills will support a newly established psychology and counselling team (including an Assistant Psychologist and Counsellors); in addition the team are responsible for the psychological supervision of nurses and skilled volunteers.

You will be self-motivated with excellent management and communication skills and be highly organised to lead and support the continued development of this evolving service.

In return for your skills we offer generous annual leave entitlement starting at 35 days pro rata (inclusive of statutory and bank holidays), free onsite parking, continued membership of the NHS pension scheme, enhanced maternity, adoption and sick pay provision and excellent catering facilities onsite at the Hospice.
