Cook/Chef

35 hours per week – Rotational shift pattern including weekends

£18,420 – £19,633 per annum plus 5% shift allowance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook/Chef to join our Catering Team. This is an exciting time to join the Team as they work to launch our new Café that will be open later this year at the Hospice.

Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. In addition to our 15 bed In-Patient unit and Community Nursing provision, we have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy, Spiritual Care and a new Living Well Centre.

You will assist in providing a full catering service to our patients, relatives and staff. Duties will also include liaising with staff and patients regarding meal requirements, supervising the kitchen and volunteers when working the supper shift, and ensuring kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards are maintained.

Catering qualifications and possession of a food hygiene certificate are essential.

The ideal applicant should possess good communication skills, demonstrate a ‘can do’ and flexible attitude and be available to start quickly.

In return, you can expect to be part of a friendly team who make a real difference to our patients and families.

In return we offer 35 days pro rata annual leave (inclusive of statutory & bank holidays), free onsite parking, pension scheme, enhanced maternity, adoption and sick pay provision and excellent catering facilities at the Hospice.
