Driver & Warehouse Operative

Based at Kiln Farm, Milton Keynes

35 hours per week, including weekends on a rota basis

£21,559 per annum (£11.84 per hour)

Due to expansion within our Warehouse and Retail portfolio, we are looking for a highly motivated Warehouse Operative & Driver to support our Kiln Farm Distribution Centre team.

You will be responsible for the collection and delivery duties of furniture and sellable items on behalf of Willen Hospice, supporting the delivery of an efficient warehouse operation.  You will also support the day-to-day running of the Distribution Centre, ensuring that good quality merchandise is sent to our retail shops.

The successful candidate will have good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, a full driving license and previous experience of van driving.  Furniture delivery and/or warehouse experience is also an advantage.

About the Warehouse

Our Kiln Farm Warehouse, based in Milton Keynes, is the hub of our retail operation. Taking in a huge variety of new and donated goods including furniture, clothing, bric-a-brac and books; these are then sorted and dispatched to our customers, our shops, or recycled – all to raise vital income for Willen Hospice to provide care to our patients and their families.

About the Hospice:

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Our person centred care is delivered with compassion and respect for people’s wishes. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.  Our dedicated Business Development teams and retail portfolio of shops raise vital funds to deliver this care.

Due to restrictions within our insurance policy we are only able to accept applications from applicants who are aged 25 years and over and have held a Full UK driving license for at least 2 years.
