IPU Lead Nurse

37.5 hours per week,

worked internal rotation, including nights and weekends

Circa £45,000 per annum, including 16% shift allowance

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our In-Patient Unit leadership team!

As a team of 3 Lead Nurses, you will provide leadership, clear direction and support to the IPU team, promoting a culture of innovation, flexibility and high performance.

Working collaboratively with clinical teams across the Hospice, particularly our Willen at Home team, to ensure high quality, seamless, evidence-based Specialist Palliative nursing care is delivered.

As the IPU lead for the Quality and Governance work streams for the IPU, contribute to and participate in audit, research, service development and quality initiatives.

You will have advanced communication skills and proven experience of managing a team that provide 24 hour care, hold a developed mix of specialist clinical skills, you will be self-motivated with an interest in continuously improving the quality of patient care through good governance and supporting nurse led initiatives.

Set in the tranquil grounds of Willen Lake, Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. We offer 24 hour / seven days a week palliative care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. Our person centred care is delivered with compassion and respect for people’s wishes. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.
