We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical/Counselling/Health Psychologist who is looking to work in specialist palliative care and bereavement whilst developing their service leadership skills within our Psychology Services here at Willen Hospice.
This is a unique opportunity to work with patients and their families who are navigating the experience of a palliative diagnosis; the service also supports those who are bereaved.
Willen Hospice is the leading provider of specialist palliative care within the Milton Keynes area. In addition to our 15 bed In-Patient unit and Community Nursing provision, we have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy, and a new Living Well Centre.
This opportunity would give you experience of working within a charitable organisation, making it a unique and dynamic environment. You will be an integral part of a wider MDT including health care, social care and allied health professionals. Your leadership skills will support a newly established psychology and counselling team; in addition, to the team you will be responsible for the psychological supervision of nurses and skilled volunteers.
The successful candidate will be an experienced clinical/counselling/health Psychologist (with Doctorate) with extensive specialist knowledge underpinned by theory and a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience.
You will be self-motivated with excellent management and communication skills and be highly organised to lead and support the continued development of this evolving service.
In return for your skills we offer generous annual leave entitlement starting at 35 days pro rata (inclusive of statutory and bank holidays) with previous NHS service recognised, free onsite parking, continued membership of the NHS pension scheme, enhanced maternity, adoption and sick pay provision and excellent catering facilities onsite at the Hospice.
