Willen Hospice is counting down the days until their All New Moo 2020 on Saturday 12 September. The event replaced the popular Midnight Moo, which could not take place as usual in July, due to Covid-19.

The All New Moo is open to all ages, and invites people to walk, run or even scoot a route of their choice from their own homes. Participants can take on 5 or 10 miles, or even max their miles and go further.

Although it’s a local event, it offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with friends and families that may live far away, or even in a different county. Families and friends can start their walk or run anywhere in the world, and catch up on Zoom or Facetime while they do it, raising vital funds for an important cause together.

With less than a month to go, the All New Moo organisers have been busy preparing packs to send out to everyone who has signed up to the event so far. The packs include a fundraising guide, colour-in bibs for children, memory bibs, and the much-anticipated annual ‘Moo’ vest, which has a black and gold 1920’s theme this year.

Steve Moore, Director at headline sponsors Specsavers MK, added: “We are so pleased to be providing the iconic Moo vests for the All New Moo. As this year’s fancy dress theme is 1920s, we’re encouraging participants to dress up as much as they want, with flapper outfits, or Peaky Blinder hats and suits. It’s all good fun, for a great cause.

“The Hospice have had a very challenging year, with their events postponed or cancelled, and their usual fundraising activities unable to take place. The Moo is always an important event for the Hospice, which is why we’ve proudly been the headline sponsors for four years running, but this year they need the support from their community more than ever. Willen Hospice has cared for so many local families, so it’s our turn to take care of them in this challenging time, and one easy, and fun way to do this is to take part in the All New Moo on Saturday 12 September.”

The local Hospice is facing a staggering loss in fundraising income due to the cancellation of their usual summer events and activities. Organisers of the All New Moo are encouraging all participants to raise as much sponsorship as possible, even if it’s only £50, together it can make all the difference.

Tracey Jago, Events Manager, said: “We are so excited for our All New Moo. Our Midnight Moo is one of our most popular events, so we knew had to find an alternative way for people to still get involved. We’ve had to make some changes - running the event virtually, and in the day time - but this has meant that people who normally wouldn’t have joined us for our Midnight Moo, have been able to take part this year.

”It’s going to be a fantastic day. We’ll be hosting an all-day Zoom party for Moo walkers to join throughout the day, and we’ll also have a cheer point and memory wall up at the Hospice Gardens. If you’re thinking about signing up then just do it, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Entry to the All New Moo is £20 for adults (includes vest) and £8 for children under 14 (includes colour-in bib and goodies).
