Founded in 1981 by Dr Marjorie Reid and District Nurse Dorothy Jell, Willen Hospice was the first charity of its kind in Milton Keynes. In fact, it still remains the only Hospice caring for adults with life-limiting illnesses in the local area. We plan to share the amazing journey we’ve been on together over the past four decades and we’d love you to help us.
Many people know about Willen Hospice locally and we’re lucky to hear countless stories of how we have cared for family members and friends with such compassion. This year, as we mark our special milestone, we want to uncover some ‘never heard before’ stories about Willen. Can you help?
Did we do something extraordinary for your loved one? Did you meet royalty on a visit? Maybe you worked at the Hospice during tough times and found innovative ways to care over adversity? Were you involved in a Hospice ‘first’? We’d like to create a collection of memories to share with future generations of families, visitors, and stakeholders, to enjoy both in hard copy at the Hospice and online. If restrictions allow, we plan to hold a special celebration event in the autumn where we will display some of the information we’ve gathered.
If you can help tell our shared story, contact us at marketing@willen-hospice.org.uk or call 01908 663636.
