Arctic Survival Challenge

13 - 20 March 2022

Information evening

Monday 25 January, 6 - 7pm

The Challenge

Discover how to survive in the extreme temperatures of the Arctic on one of our toughest challenges yet.

Set 150km south of the Arctic Circle, the first part of the challenge is about adjusting to life in the cold, learning crucial survival skills and discovering how to build shelters. The second half sees you leaving the comfort of the log cabin, venturing out into the wilderness as you work as a team to build a different shelter for three nights: a Scandinavian tent, a natural shelter and a snow hole called a quinzee.

Your hard work will be rewarded with the unforgettable experience of cross-country skiing, husky sledding and snowmobiling.

Why take part? As well being an amazing personal achievement, the money you raise through taking on this once-in-a-lifetime challenge will make a huge difference to the local patients and their families who we care for every day. Each battling their own daily challenges, we help them to come to terms with living with a life limiting illness through practical, medical and emotional support.

Information evening

Our virtual information evening is a no-committment opportunity to speak to trip organiser, Lexi from Different Travel, and Dawn, Willen Hospice Challenges Fundraiser, about the challenge. You can ask any questions you like, and find out everything you need to know.

Survival Skills Weekend

Before departure you may have the opportunity to take part in a survival skills training weekend or seminar in Exeter. This is usually in November and we encourage you to take part in this training opportunity to learn vital skills and meet some of your fellow Arctic Survivalists. You can let us know if you'd like to do this when you book.

Download this booklet for the full itinerary and more details.
