MK To Paris Cycle Ride

Cycle to Paris along the rustic cycle paths of L’Avenue Verte and support Willen Hospice

Following the success of our MK to Amsterdam cycle, Willen Hospice are teaming up once again with Cycle4Good to give you the chance to join a group of 40 cyclists on a 4 day ride to Paris

The challenge, which takes place from Wednesday 26 – Saturday 29 June 2019, is ideal for cyclists of all abilities. Whether you’re a keen rider or beginner, you can take part and help raise vital funds for Willen Hospice.

To take part, pay a £100 registration fee to secure your place and commit to raising at least £1,500 for Willen Hospice.

This year we are delighted to have EMW as our sponsor!  They were with us on our last epic cycling journey - MK to Amsterdam and they'll be with us on this one!

Itinerary

Day 1: Hampton Court to Lewes (67 Miles)
You will meet for a photo at Willen Hospice before being taken by coach to the start of the ride at Hampton Court in London close to the Olympic Road Race start.  The morning route out of London will surprise you as we wind our way along the edge of the Thames, through water meadows and down canal paths to Guildford.  The afternoon takes us south with much of the route on a converted railway path to the official end of Day 1 in Partridge Green.  From here the stronger riders have the option to ride west along the South Downs to our hotel for the night, the White Hart in Lewes. Those choosing not to extend the ride are transferred to the hotel.

Day 2: Lewes to Forges Les Eaux (44 Miles)
The day starts with a refreshing ride downhill to the coast and the ferry Port at Newhaven.
Once on board the ferry the crossing takes approximately four hours so time to rest and purchase your own lunch and refreshments.  After we disembark we will cycle out of Dieppe and through local towns and villages on to L’Avenue Verte, a tarmac cycle and pedestrian route down a disused railway line which takes us through the French countryside to our overnight stop, Le Continental in the holiday town of Forges Les Eaux.

Day 3: Forges Les Eaux to Cergys (68 Miles)
After a continental breakfast in our hotel we begin a challenging but truly stunning days riding through rolling French countryside and picturesque French villages, chateaus and churches.  At the end of the day we cross the Red Bridge and wind our way through a park to our hotel, Avenue Des Grouettes in Cergys.  Dinner is a short walk from the hotel in the atmospheric port.

Day 4: Cergys to Paris (44 Miles)
On our last day we enjoy a relatively flat ride into Paris following the Seine through pretty suburbs and parks.  We then follow working canals and other waterways that give us a real feeling of the city as we speed through a variety of French residential, commercial and industrial areas.  Soon after we pass the Stade du France we take on the busy streets of Central Paris finishing in front of the Cathedral of Notre Dame.  After a short celebration and pictures, we move to our nearby 4 star hotel Les Bulles De Paris.  We meet early evening for drinks on the Isle St Louise and then down the road for a lively medieval banquet dinner at the famous Nos Ancetres Les Gaulois restaurant.

Day 5: Return
After enjoying a day in Paris you will make your own way back to Milton Keynes on the Eurostar.  Our support vans will return to the UK with everyone’s bikes which can be collected from Willen Hospice over the next week.

We've had great feedback!
