Willen Hospice Lake Run
Venue: Willen Lake (start at Willen Hospice gardens)
Join us for our virtual Lake Run on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October 2020
Our Lake Run is the perfect autumn running event to keep you motivated once the nights have drawn in, and the temperature has dropped.
This year our Lake Run looks a bit different, but it will still be a great running event!
Choose to run either our 5K or 10K route around the stunning Willen Lake, any time over the weekend of Saturday 10 - Sunday 11 October.
Select your distance when you register, and we'll email you the route maps. After you've completed your run, let us know and we'll send you your medal in the post.
We are strictly following the Rule of Six guidance set out by the Government. We know that you may want your friends or family to support you on your run, but as this event has been re-designed to discourage large gatherings, we kindly ask you not to invite people to cheer you on route or at the Hospice. Thank you for your understanding.
Adult Entry - £15
Child Entry (8 - 17 years) - £8
All proceeds will go to Willen Hospice, but extra fundraising will help us to make a huge difference.
Five Reasons to take part

Willen Hospice has a very special place in the hearts of people in the local area. At the toughest time of their lives, we do everything we can so people feel relief from pain and families can enjoy the precious moments they have left together. In the midst of the exhaustion, the pain and the grief, we are there. Our highly skilled professional team provide the best quality and heartfelt care for terminally ill people - and it’s all free to everyone who needs us.
To do all of this, we need to raise £4.7million every year, and COVID-19 has made fundraising incredibly difficult this year. We are kindly asking everyone taking part in our Lake Run to raise a minimum of £50 to support our care.
You can find helpful fundraising resources here. Thank you.
Photography and Videography
On the day there will be third-party/volunteer professional photographers and film-makers capturing the event. The film and photographs of the event may be used in future Willen Hospice publications, online and in the media, and to help publicise future Willen Hospice events. The photographers may also publish on their own websites and social media platforms, from which Willen Hospice will share. It will be assumed that parental/guardian permission has been given. If you do not wish for your child to be photographed then let our photographers know at the start of the event.
