What's your 2020 challenge for Willen?

Take on our year-long 2020 challenge and raise funds to help us care for patients and families

We’ve teamed up with MyMiltonKeynes and MK Council as part of the European City of Sport 2020 to get more people active this year.

Your 2020 challenge can be whatever you want it to be. You could cycle 2020 miles, walk 2020km in a relay with your friends, or even knit for 2020 minutes.

All you need to do is log your progress over the year and get your fundraising underway.

As a charity we need to raise £4.7million every year, that’s £9 a minute, just so we can continue caring for patients with life-limiting illnesses and at the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families. We wouldn’t be able to do that without the support of our local community.

What’s your 2020?

1. First you need to find something that suits you. Are you a keen cyclist? Knitting nerd? Kayak King or Queen? Running enthusiast? Or maybe you can do a combination?

2. After you’ve decided what you’re going to do, you need to know how you’re going to measure it. Is it going to be 2020 miles, 2020km, 2020 minutes, or £2020?

3. Then you need to log your progress. This is easy to do using apps like Strava or Map My Run, or your can keep a diary. 

4. Pledge to take on the challenge by filling out the form below.

5. Start fundraising! Set up a Facebook Fundraiser or JustGiving Page for online donations, or download our sponsorship form, plus more resources here.

Cycle 2020 miles – Join our Ride for Willen Sportive in September to help add those miles up.

Walk 2020 steps – Our Midnight Moo or Men’s Moo can boost your numbers!

Hike 2020km – there may not be any mountains in Milton Keynes, but you could try taking on different mountain challenges such as the Three Peaks, Yorkshire Three Peaks, or maybe go international and hike to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, or Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.

2020 minutes – 2020 minutes breaks down to a three day challenge over 12 hours. You could do a hike, or maybe some sort of quirky marathon.

Raise £2020 – If you work for a company, maybe your colleagues could team together to raise £2020 for Willen Hospice.

Remember, this is a year long challenge so it may seem like a big number but there’s plenty of time to do it!
