Could you help us with bucket collections?
You may think a £1 here, or a 50p there, wouldn't raise much money, but that's not true! In fact, during Hospice Care Week (7 - 13 October) we raised over £3145 just through bucket collections alone - but we can't do it with you.
If you don't think bucket collecting is for you then just have a look at what our volunteers have to say:
"I love bucket collecting! There's something really warming about it; you get to hear some lovely stories about how Willen Hospice has made a difference, and people can be really generous. I'm always amazed by how quick the time goes as well."
"When I first did a bucket collection I felt really nervous, but once I had done one, I was hooked! It is incredible how many people donate and it's lovely when people stop and tell their stories and experiences of the Hospice. I have never had a bad experience and will always happily stand and bucket collect."
"It is a great opportunity to chat to people and hear from them how they admire the Hospice for all the work that we do. Many people have had a connection to the Hospice over the years and are always very complimentary about us."
"I never thought I'd ever do bucket collecting, but now I've done it a few times and I really enjoy it. You get people coming up to you of all ages and backgrounds with such warm smiles and people are always really positive. People really open up to you and tell you such personal stories. There is something very humbling about the experience and it’s nice to be to do something in the community. Even when people can’t donate they thank you for the job you do."
If you could spare an hour or two to help, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your availability.

We urgently need volunteers
Without the support of volunteers, Willen Hospice simply couldn't provide the care it does. Within our Community Fundraising team, there's so many opportunities to make a difference to our fundraising by giving some of your time.
Duties include a host of fundraising activities from running stalls to taking part in collections to helping at various community events. Time commitment will be on an ad-hoc basis in blocks of two to four hours at a time. This role can encompass a wide range of skills - from photographers to musicians to drivers and much, much more.
Community Fundraising Office Volunteer
This role involves helping to organise, distribute and collect fundraising resources, and assisting the Community Fundraising team in supporting community events. It also includes general admin tasks and being the point of contact for Ambassadors and Fundraising Volunteers.
A role for existing Willen Hospice fundraisers, duties will include attending community events as representatives of the hospice, receiving cheques & donations at events, speaking for Willen Hospice at the events and thanking community supporters in person. Ambassadors will attend quarterly briefings with our Community Fundraising team.
