How do referrals to the In-Patient Unit work?
Individuals can be referred to the Willen Hospice In-Patient Unit for specialist complex symptom control, including pain relief and management of distressing symptoms that are a result of their illness or treatment. Emotional and spiritual support is also available as well as physiotherapy.
Referrals to the In-Patient Unit can be made by GPs, Hospital Consultants, District Nurses and Social Services from Milton Keynes and surrounding areas. Patients can also refer themselves but should this be the case, the patient's GP will always be contacted to confirm details.
Our Referrals and Admissions Policy provides guidance on accessing all the services provided by Willen Hospice.
