Are you living with cancer or have just been discharged from your oncology follow-up?
The experience of living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis is different for everyone. Your needs will be specific to you. It may be adjusting to a new normal or perhaps gradually building up to be able to return to work or your usual activities.
Cancer brings up many varied emotions, and you may need a little more help in the form of emotional and psychological support.
With the many advances in treatment, people are often experiencing late effects and subsequently having to live with the consequences of thos treatments. Our new Community Cancer Care service is here to support you and help you find ways to live well and maintain your independence.
Who are we and what do we do?
The Community Cancer Care service is part of The Willen Hospice Therapeutic and Wellbeing team. Our community cancer nurse specialist works closely with all the members of our team so that you can benefit from psychology, physiotherapy, lymphodema nurse specialist advice, medical advice, complementary therapies, social work, spiritual care and family or carers' support. If required we can refer you to our Willen at Home team to provide ongoing support if you find your condition is deteriorating and you need additional care towards the end of your life.
