Our new shop at The Point had it’s official launch event last week and we held a social media competition to find a VIP to officially open our 14th Shop.
The competition, asked people to express ‘What does Willen Hospice mean to you?’ We were looking for a community champion and true VIP amongst the Hospice’s many supporters.
Social media competition winner, Rachel Hutchinson, was randomly selected as the winner of a £100 voucher and a VIP shopping day. In cutting the ribbon, Rachel was joined by Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Amanda Marlow and some of our amazing nurses.
The competition, asked people to express ‘What does Willen Hospice mean to you?’ Rachel’s moving comment on our “Wanted VIP” social media post was such a lovely tribute, it read:
“Willen Hospice will always have an incredibly special place in my heart. My 1st husband and I were married at the hospice, 2 days before he passed away. I am so grateful that the staff managed to arrange it for us and that, in the end, I got to call him my husband I will never forget their kindness, care and compassion x “
Also invited along to the exclusive launch event were four runners-up, Colin, Coral, Ionica and Amy, who each received a £25 voucher to spend in store.

The new store is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Happy Shopping!
