At our Lymphoedema clinic we provide holistic and personalised care for patients who have developed swelling secondary to cancer or its treatments; life limiting conditions, and patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Primary Lymphoedema.
Lymphoedema is a lifelong condition, and the role of our service is to provide education; monitoring and management advice to promote self-care.
The clinic is a nurse-led outpatient clinic however, nurses will visit patients that are housebound, when clinically required. We accept referrals from any healthcare professional. Depending on the patient’s medical history, we may request further investigations to be done prior to being assessed in the clinic.
The team may refer patients onto other services or Hospitals for support with their care. This could include Psychologists, Social Care Teams, or other services at Willen Hospice.
