Bedford Running Festival – 2 – 4 September

Apply for a charity place for the Bedford Running Festival

The Bedford Running Festival is one of the most iconic events in the local area and this year we have 10 charity places across various distances. Spread out over one weekend, there are four races to choose from:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • Half marathon
  • 20 miles

The 20-mile race is a unique distance, and perfect for anyone training to run a marathon, particularly those running in the London Marathon which is a month later.

We are also a charity partner, so if you would rather enter individually, you can still choose Willen Hospice from the dropdown.

Covid-19
MCD Events will make every effort to stage the Bedford Running Festival as advertised in 2022. However, given the
uncertainty regarding Covid-19 and restrictions imposed by the UK Government changing often, we recognise it may be necessary to modify the race to meet restrictions in place at the time or, in extreme circumstances to postpone the race to a later date. We make it clear by this statement that as Covid-19 restrictions are not under our control and in the event of postponement a virtual run as well as charity places to be automatically deferred over to the postponed date or 2023.

I am in a very privileged position to work as a nurse at Willen Hospice, I see first hand what an amazing place Willen is! We deliver compassionate care with integrity and openness. We deal with life’s taboos. And that’s so refreshing. Allowing a patient or relative to open up and ask the questions they’ve hidden away is like breathing in fresh air. We’re there with our patients to hold their hands, to help take the fear out of dying and to dispel myths around the end of life.
