We have taken the tough decision to cancel this year’s Lights of Love celebrations due to COVID-19. We apologies for any inconvenience caused, however we are pleased to say that we will still be holding a festive celebration on Sunday 19 December, 3.15pm – 4.15pm in the Hospice gardens.
We invite you to join us in coming together for a celebration of songs and carols, within the tranquil setting of the Hospice grounds which will be lit for the occasion. Afterwards you are very welcome to join us a short walk to The Well, where there will be be hot and cold refreshments, mince pies and biscuits, you can purchase for a donation. The path leading to The Well will be candle lit by christmas lanterns and we will sing as we pass by. If you wish, there will be a further service held from 5pm at St Mary Magdalene Church at Willen with Quorum.
To remember loved ones, you can purchase Christmas Lanterns to decorate at home and bring and hold on the day or buy a personalised Christmas Decoration, which you can display on your tree at home. Find more information below.
Everyone is welcome, including well behaved dogs.
Free admission – please register to attend
You can support Willen Hospice with a personalised decoration and Christmas lantern. The decoration will make a beautiful Christmas gift, or you can purchase your own one to hang at home in memory of your loved one. Our Christmas lanterns can be decorated at home and then held during our carol service, or kept at home.
When ordering, you can choose to collect your decoration(s)/lantern(s) from The Well, MK15 9AA, or have it posted out to you (for an additional cost to cover postage). You can also purchase a lantern, or place an order for a decoration or Anniversary Remembrance Rose at the service (please note that this will not be available to take home right away as it will need to be engraved).
Please order by Friday 17 December to have in time for Christmas.

Willen Hospice has a very special place in the hearts of people in the local area. At the toughest time of their lives, we do everything we can so people feel relief from pain and families can enjoy the precious moments they have left together. In the midst of the exhaustion, the pain and the grief, we are there. Our highly skilled professional team provide the best quality and heartfelt care for terminally ill people, and support for their families.
Our care is completely free of charge, but to continue doing this we need to raise £4.7 million every year; that’s £9 a minute. We rely on the support and generosity of our community to help us.
